Hey folks, this will be my last article for the current format.  Starting next week, assuming the official list gets released, I will start with ideas for decks and theories on the format.  This week however, I will use a deck that was recently played with by a group of my regional-going-friends.  It is a Cloudian deck and it has a powerful punch behind it.  The list is as follows:

Monsters: 19
3 Cloudian – Turbulence
1 Cloudian – Smoke Ball
1 Dark Armed Dragon
3 Caius the Shadow Monarch
3 Genex Controller
1 Genex Undine
1 Sangan
2 Destiny Hero – Malicious
2 Fishborg Blaster
1 Treeborn Frog
1 Effect Veiler

Spells: 18
1 Allure of Darkness
3 Book of Moon
1 Dark Hole
2 Enemy Controller
1 Foolish Burial
1 Future Fusion
1 Monster Reborn
2 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 One for One
2 Pot of Avarice
1 Salvage
2 White Elephant’s Gift

Traps: 3
3 Royal Decree

Extra: 15
1 Elemental Hero Absolute Zero
1 Shooting Star Dragon
1 Locomotion R-Genex
1 Colossal Fighter
1 Scrap Dragon
1 Dark End Dragon
1 Stardust Dragon
1 Black Rose Dragon
1 Goyo Guardian
1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
1 Ally of Justice Catastor
1 Armory Arm
3 Formula Synchron

This deck is full of plus-ones.  Cards like Genex Undine, can generate possible plus-twos, which is absolutely absurd for a legal Yu-Gi-Oh! card.  This deck tends to spam Synchro thanks to Formula Synchron.

Cloudian – Turbulence generates unmatched advantage.  He cannot be destroyed by battle and can special summon a monster from your Deck or Graveyard!  The monster it special summons is able to bring up Fishborg Blaster, which lets you spam-synchro Formula Synchron.  In turn, you are able to synchro with those Formula Synchrons to make bigger and better synchros.  This loads your Graveyard with Pot of Avarice targets.  Which in turn, gains you even more advantage and more cards on your opponent.

Future Fusion puts Destiny Hero – Malicious in your Graveyard, which makes 8-stars with Formula Synchron.  It also brings out Elemental Hero Absolute Zero.  Next we have Caius the Shadow Monarch.  We all know exactly what it brings to the table.  It wins games, removes Rykos, Synchros, and Stardust Dragons, and sometimes itself when your opponent is low enough!  Destiny Hero – Malicious and Caius are both tunable with Genex Controller to make Locomotion R-Genex.  Locomotion provides you with a permanent Brain Control on their highest attack, attack position monster.

Treeborn Frog is amazing in this deck, even with three Royal Decree.  It is another card that allows you to spam synchro Formula Synchron.  Dark Armed Dragon is another one-of in the deck.  It is one of the most busted cards in the entire game so it deserves a spot in this deck.

There are four “vanilla” monsters in the list, so two copies of White Elephant’s Gift will suffice.  It is similar to a Destiny Draw in this deck.

This article will be kept short, so in summary, test this deck at your next local event and regional (if you have one before the new list is live.)  I will be at the Greensboro, NC regional this Saturday (Feb 19th) so be sure to stop by and say hello.  We can play a few games or trade.  I will not be playing in the regional itself.  Be sure to add me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter @khugs2.  Until next time, good luck and have fun.
